Department of Urology @ Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Teaching Hospital

The Urology Unit provides specialized care for patients with conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive system. Our team diagnoses and treats a wide range of urological disorders, including prostate diseases, urinary tract stones, and cystic conditions, offering both medical management and surgical intervention tailored to each patient's needs.

The unit performs a variety of surgical procedures, including prostate surgery, removal and fragmentation of urinary stones, excision of cysts, and kidney elevation procedures. Accurate diagnosis and treatment planning are supported by urodynamic study equipment for bladder function assessment and a lithotripsy machine for non-invasive stone fragmentation, ensuring effective and targeted care at every stage.

With approximately 50 to 70 patients seen daily, the unit serves as a reliable point of reference for urological care within the hospital, working in close collaboration with other clinical and surgical units to ensure continuity and quality of treatment.
