Research

At Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Teaching Hospital, research is integral to our mission of enhancing healthcare services in Iraq. In partnership with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, we are committed to fostering a research environment that promotes innovation, evidence-based practices, and the development of medical knowledge. Our collaborative efforts aim to address the specific health challenges faced by the Iraqi population, ensuring that our research initiatives are both relevant and impactful.

Rare Diseases

Our medical teams are actively involved in documenting and publishing complex clinical cases to contribute to global medical knowledge. Notably, our Department of Neurology recently diagnosed a rare case of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease with Lupus cerebritis, an achievement published in international journals and indexed in PubMed.

Oncology

Oncology

In collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Health and local oncology centers, our hospital leads national initiatives to advance cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Research efforts focus on improving screening programs for breast, cervical, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancers, with the goal of reducing mortality through earlier diagnosis and timely intervention. By combining clinical studies, public health strategies, and medical training, we aim to strengthen local healthcare capacity and promote evidence-based oncology practices across Iraq.
