Radiotherapy
Radiotherapy is a clinical specialty that uses targeted ionizing radiation to treat cancer and certain non-malignant conditions. Radiation oncologists plan and deliver treatments aimed at destroying tumor cells while preserving surrounding healthy tissue, often as part of a multidisciplinary oncology approach. Techniques such as external beam radiation and brachytherapy are selected based on tumor type, location, and patient needs. Radiotherapy contributes both to curative treatments and to symptom control, improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients.
