Department of Maxillofacial Surgery @ Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Teaching Hospital

The Maxillofacial Surgery Unit provides specialized surgical care for conditions affecting the face, jaws, and related structures. Our team manages a wide range of cases, from facial trauma and jaw fractures to tumors, post-surgical scars, and temporomandibular joint disorders, as well as congenital conditions such as cleft palate and cleft lip.

The unit offers both functional and aesthetic interventions, including surgical tooth extraction, tumor biopsy, fixation of jaw fractures, scar revision, and management of temporomandibular joint disorders. Procedures are supported by a laser device used for multiple surgical and therapeutic purposes, including bleeding control, and facial X-ray equipment for diagnostic evaluation of maxillofacial conditions.

With approximately 10 to 20 patients received daily, the unit delivers focused, personalized care aimed at restoring normal anatomy, improving function, and enhancing each patient's quality of life.
