We believe every life is valuable. This initiative aims to empower Iraqi communities with access to free, reliable, and life-saving cancer screening—because early detection leads to better treatment outcomes.

The Early Cancer Screening Project is a national health initiative spearheaded by Gruppo San Donato (GSD) in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Health (MOH), Oncology Center NGOs and community leaders across Iraq. Our mission is to bring early cancer detection tools to communities throughout the country and promote awareness of preventive healthcare.

Types of Screenings Offered:

• Breast Cancer Screening: Mammography and clinical exams for women aged 40+
• Cervical Cancer Screening: Pap smear and HPV tests for women aged 25–64
• Colorectal Cancer Screening: Fecal tests and colonoscopy for adults aged 45+
• Lung Cancer Screening: CT scans for high-risk individuals aged 50+
• Prostate Cancer Screening: PSA blood tests and consultations for men aged 50+

Target Groups & Regions:

• Citizens aged 25 and above depending on the type of screening
• Priority for women and individuals with vulnerability in underserved areas
• Rural and urban regions starting from Najaf City.
• Mobile screening units deployed for remote areas

Goals of the Initiative:

• Reduce mortality through early diagnosis
• Reach over 500,000 beneficiaries in 12 months
• Empower local health systems and train medical staff
• Build public trust in the importance of preventive care

Step 1: Awareness & Eligibility Check

• Learn about cancer risks
• Check your eligibility based on age, gender, and risk factors
• Select your city and screening type

Step 2: Booking an Appointment

• Book via the website, WhatsApp, or health center
• Choose your preferred date and location

Step 3: Visit the Screening Center

• Arrive 15 minutes early
• Bring your ID or health card
• Staff will explain the procedure

Step 4: Get Screened

• Safe, simple, and quick procedures
• Conducted by trained specialists
• Takes 15–30 minutes depending on the type

Step 5: Receive Your Results

• Results shared by phone, SMS, or in person
• Further guidance provided if follow-up is needed

1. Who is eligible for cancer screening?

Anyone aged 25 and above, depending on the type of cancer screening. Specific age guidelines apply:

• Breast: Women 40+
• Cervical: Women 25–64
• Colorectal: Adults 45+
• Lung: High-risk individuals 50+
• Prostate: Men 50+

2. How much does the screening cost?

All screenings under this initiative are completely free of charge.

3. Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website, WhatsApp, or your local health center.

4. What should I bring to the screening?

Please bring your national ID or health card. Arrive 15 minutes early.

5. How long does the screening take?

It usually takes between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the screening type.

6. How will I receive my results?

You will get your results via phone call, SMS, or in person at the health center.

7. Is the screening safe?

Yes, all procedures are safe, simple, and carried out by trained medical professionals.

8. What happens if something abnormal is found?
